AUDITIONS!

Art’s Sake Studios announces auditions for its annual Play de Luna production scheduled for the fall of this year.

When: Saturday September 22nd from 1:00 – 6:30 pm. ONLY (No appointment necessary, please do not call the studio).

Where: Art’s Sake Studios, 680 Clay Street, Winter Park, FL 32789

Performance Dates: Fridays and Saturdays 10/26, 10/27, 11/02, 11/03, 11/09, 11/10, 11/16, 11/17 at 8:00 pm and Sundays 11/04, 11/11 at 6:00 pm. (SHOW RUNS APPROX 2 HRS, CAST CALL TIME ONE HOUR PRIOR TO SHOW TIME)

Tech Dates: Sunday 10/21 5:00 – 11:00 pm and Thursday 10/25 11:00 - Midnight.

Rehearsals: Directors and cast are responsible for the rehearsal dates of their show, the frequency of those dates will be up to the individual show. Rehearsals will run through September and October right up to Opening Night. (Usually around 8 – 10 short rehearsals per show).

Monologues are not necessary, sides will be provided at the studio.

PLAY DE LUNA FAQ’S

Q: Who can audition? A: Past and current Art’s Sake Studios students ONLY.

Q: Is there pay? A: Play De Luna is a self-producing company. There is no pay (but it's great to have a Theatre credit on your resume). Additionally, all cast members are asked to sell 10 tickets @ $10.00 each.

Q: Can I audition if I am Equity or SAG? A: If you are SAG, you can ABSOLUTELY audition. If you are Equity, you will have to fill out an Equity Waiver form with written request.

Q: What is the rehearsal schedule? A: Rehearsals are based around the actor/directors’ schedules. There are usually about 8-10, 1-3 hr rehearsals.

Q: What if I have rehearsal conflicts? A: On your audition form you will be asked for away dates, and specific time conflicts. Please be as candid as possible with your flexibility.

Q: Can I read the plays in advance? A: Perusal scripts will be available on this event page.

Q: Can I see the sides in advance? A: Sides will typically be available 1-2 days prior to audition date.

Q: What should I bring to the audition? A: A properly filled out audition form to expedite the audition process. Q: Do I need to bring a headshot/resume to the audition? A: It'd be nice, but not a necessity.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment for an audition? A: We hold OPEN auditions--we do not make ANY appointments. Please just show up ANY TIME during the audition day.

Q: How soon after the audition will casting be announced? A: Typically, the directors make offers within 48 hours.
